Terre Haute, Ind.-The Southern Illinois men's tennis team added another win to their conference record as it defeated the Indiana State Sycamores, 5-2.
Lineups were mixed in the match as Eric West and Felipe Villasenor grabbed their first victory at No. 1 doubles to help the Salukis sweep doubles action.
Felipe Villasenor also played at No. 1 singles but was defeated by Mpiloenhle Migogo, 6-4, 4-2 before retiring due to injury but the Salukis won No. 2 through No. 5 singles to help seal the victory.
"We moved some doubles teams around and it seemed to work well," Head coach Dann Nelson said.
"Eric West, Felipe Villasenor, Hugo Vidal and Lucas Waked all played very well today and we are going to have to be extremely pumped and play well to have a chance against Wichita State," Nelson said.
