CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois women's basketball program announces `Big Dawg' Camp for girls entering kindergarten through eighth grade for the 2009-10 school year.
The Salukis will host camp June 29 through July 1 and August 3-5 at the SIU Recreation Center.
The camp will be separated into four sessions, sessions I and II taking place June 29 through July 1. Girls that will be in kindergarten through second grade this fall are invited to session I from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day. Session II invites third through eighth graders from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
Sessions III and IV will take place August 3-5. Girls grades K-2 will be invited to the morning session III, and 3-8 the afternoon session IV.
The camp will focus on all aspects of the game emphasizing offensive and defensive fundamentals essential for young players transitioning to an advanced level of play. During each session campers will participate in fundamental drills, contests and games.
Cost for each camper will be $75, that includes a t-shirt. Campers will participate in games and contests daily and prizes will be awarded.
Deadline for session I or II is June 22, and deadline for session III or IV will be July 26.
