Valley Announces Officers for 2009-10

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Dr. Samuel Goldman, chancellor of Southern Illinois University, and Dr. Harold Bardo, faculty athletics representative from Southern Illinois University, will serve as the 2009-10 chair of the Presidents Council and president of the Missouri Valley Conference, respectively, Valley Commissioner Doug Elgin has announced.
Goldman and Bardo top the list of the seven-member officers for the conference for 2009-10. Dr. Bruce Johnson, faculty athletics representative at Missouri State University, is the president-elect for The Valley, while Dr. Anne Woodrick, faculty athletics representative at the University of Northern Iowa, is the past president of the Conference.
Bruce Rasmussen, director of athletics at Creighton University, will serve as the league's vice president/director of athletics. And Sarah Solinsky, senior woman administrator at the University of Evansville, will serve as The Valley's vice president/senior woman administrator. Rasmussen also will serve as the chair for the Athletics Administrators Committee.
The approved slate of athletics officers for the 2009-10 academic year is:
Chair, MVC Presidents Council -- Dr. Samuel Goldman, president of Southern Illinois University.
MVC President -- Dr. Harold Bardo, faculty athletics representative at Southern Illinois University.
MVC President-Elect -- Dr. Bruce Johnson, faculty athletics representative at Missouri State University.
MVC Past President -- Dr. Anne Woodrick, faculty athletics representative at the University of Northern Iowa.
MVC Vice President/Director of Athletics and Chair of the Athletics Administrators Committee -- Bruce Rasmussen, director of athletics at Creighton University.
MVC Vice President/Senior Woman Administrator: Sarah Solinsky, senior woman administrator at the University of Evansville.
Secretary-Treasurer -- Doug Elgin, Missouri Valley Conference Commissioner.
