Yesterday in practice, the team worked on goalline defense. What are the keys to making it successful this season?
Well, in goalline defense, you can't be hesitant whatsoever. It has to be full speed on both sides, and you have to be very assignment sharp<>
Today, your emphasis was on the two-minute drill. What are the keys to making that successful?br> Communication in a very short period of time. There's not a whole lot of time to think out there, so you have to be rapid in your commands and be quick to respond.
How important is the quarterback's role in clock management?
Well, the quarterback is completely in control of clock managment. There is not enough time to do everything from the sidelines, so you really do put your quarterback in charge of the entire offense.
What is your philosophy as far as using a no-huddle offense during intergal parts of the game?br> What we will do is that we will split up whether we huddle or don't huddle. That allows us to change the tempo during the course of the game and keeps the defense off balance, and it just keeps them guessing what we are going to do.
How difficult is it to defend a no-huddle offense?
It can be very difficult, if you are not ready for it. It's something else they have to prepare for, and that's what you try to do -- make them prepare for it. That's what you try to do -- make them prepare for one more thing than they want to.
