Men's Tennis wraps up play at MVC Individuals

DES MOINES, Iowa - The SIU men's tennis team wrapped up play Sunday at the Missouri Valley Conference Individual Championships in Des Moines, Iowa with a loss in their lone match.
After advancing to the semi-finals, the doubles duo of Falk De Beenhouwer and Mpilo Migogo, playing together for the first time ever, were handily defeated by Illinois State's Timon Reichelt and Matej Zlatovic, 8-2. Reichelt and Zlatkovic would go on to win the Flight #2 doubles, trouncing Drake's Gui Marsiglia and Jean Erasmus, 8-3.
"We struggled today to find a rhythm and were not aggressive enough when we needed to be," said head coach Dann Nelson. "They broke our serve in the first game of the match and we had to play catch up from the start."
The Salukis will now look forward to the spring season, as they open up their MVC title defense with a non-conference match against Ohio Valley Conference regular season champ Eastern Kentucky Saturday in Richmond, Ky. The match is set to begin at noon in the Greg Adams Indoor Tennis Center.
