Note of the Week
In order for SIU to have its eighth-straight winning season, the Salukis must win their three remaining games. After playing at North Dakota State this weekend, the Salukis host Western Illinois and Indiana State in their final two games. These are three teams that SIU has had recent success against. The Salukis have won 2-of-3 games over the Bison since 2005, won seven-straight against Indiana State and won eight-straight over the Leathernecks. SIU's last losing season was in 2002 and that capped off 11-straight losing seasons for the Salukis, which had a 36-86 (.295) record in those 11 seasons from 1992-2002. Southern Illinois has won its last three games of the regular season in each of the past three years, but only eight times total in 94 playing seasons of football.
