CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University Athletic Department announced Monday the times for the six home football games in the upcoming 2010 season.
The Salukis, who are coming off an 11-2 season in which they won their second-straight Missouri Valley Football Conference Championship, will be opening up a new era of SIU football in its new stadium. SIU has an additional home game this season and will play two night games and four day games.
"Even though games selected for television could make changing game times a necessity, establishing them early will assist our fans during the seat selection process and planning for the 2010 season to the best of their ability," SIU Director of Athletics Mario Moccia said. "We feel these times give our fans the best opportunity to enjoy the full game day experience. We are all excited about the upcoming 2010 season in the new stadium and are planning to significantly increase our season ticket base."
Southern Illinois will host its homecoming weekend on Saturday, Oct. 9 when the Salukis play Northern Iowa at 2 p.m. SIU has won its last eight homecoming games. Then the following Saturday, Oct. 16, is a part of Family Weekend at Southern Illinois. The Dawgs play South Dakota State at 2 p.m. that day.
2010 SIU Football Home Schedule
Thursday, Sept. 2 vs. Quincy - 7 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 18 vs. Southeast Missouri State - 6 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 9 vs. Northern Iowa - 2 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 16 vs. South Dakota State - 2 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 13 vs. Western Illinois - 1 p.m.

The majority of season ticket prices will stay at the same price as last season. Fans purchasing bleacher seats can save at least $35 from buying individual game tickets.
