Football completes Pro Day Thursday

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois football program held its pro day on Thursday and had scouts from 10 NFL teams on hand for the testing.

Representatives from the New York Jets, Chicago Bears, Arizona Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts, Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans, Jacksonville Jaguars, St. Louis Rams and Atlanta Falcons were at SIU's campus Wednesday. In addition, the Baltimore Ravens and Chicago Bears had their defensive backs coach present for the testing.

Nine different Salukis - Chris Dieker, Kyle Dougherty, Jeff Evans, Stephen Franklin, Korey Lindsey, Anthony Seay, Robert Spann and Michael Thornton - all did some kind of testing.

The former Salukis were tested for their bench press, vertical jump and standing broad jump before moving outside to do speed and agility testing along with position drills.

The 2011 NFL Draft begins on Thursday, April 28.
