Women's Basketball holds postseason banquet

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Southern Illinois women's basketball team handed out team awards and reflected on the 2010-11 season during its team banquet Sunday at the John Paul Cook Club.

The afternoon included remarks from Saluki head coach Missy Tiber and SIU Athletics Director Mario Moccia before Tiber awarded three players for their contributions during the season. Senior forward Nneka Nwani was named the team's Most Improved Player while senior forward Katrina Swingler earned the title of Hardest Worker and sophomore guard Ashley Giritharan was given the Coaches Award.

Following the award presentations, Tiber recognized the team's three outgoing seniors, Swingler, Nwani and Eboni Crayton, before the banquet concluded with a video of highlights from the 2010-11 season.
