SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Southern Illinois softball team leads 4-0 over Creighton in the sixth inning, but rain has forced the suspension of play until 10 a.m. Friday morning.
Natalee Weissinger got things going for the Salukis with a two-out two RBI double in the second to put the Dawgs up early.
They continued in the third as the Bluejay defense made two errors while Taylor Orsburn drove in her 49th RBI of the season to put her two shy of the single season record of 51 set by Katie Wilson in 2010.
Danielle Glosson is leading the Salukis on the mound, throwing the two hit shutout with two strikeouts through five innings. The two teams will resume play in the top of the sixth inning at Killian Softball Stadium.
