Lambert finishes 19th in hammer at NCAA Finals

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Southern Illinois track and field team continued competition at the NCAA Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, Thursday, with J.C. Lambert finishing 19th in the hammer throw.
Lambert posted a mark of 202-07 to close out his junior season in what was his second consecutive trip to the NCAA Finals.
Saluki senior Jeff Schirmer was scheduled to run in the 10,000-meter run Thursday night before inclement weather postponed the event until 5 p.m. Friday.
SIU senior Gwen Berry and junior Jeneva McCall are scheduled to compete in the hammer throw Friday and the shot put Saturday.
