Saluki Football Golf Scramble set for Aug. 5

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Join head coach Dale Lennon and the Southern Illinois football program for the 2011 Saluki Football Golf Scramble at Hickory Ridge Golf Course on Friday, Aug. 5.
Individual or team entries are being accepted. The prices are $100 for a single entry or $400 for a group entering in a foursome ($100 may be tax deductible). A Football Alumni Special is available for any former Saluki football player at the rate of $75.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available. A foursome and hole sponsorship is available for $500 ($200 may be tax deductible). There is a $100 hole sponsor with sponsor signage and a $50 legends sponsor for lettermen with your name, years played and jersey number. In addition, a $25 cart sponsor is available with sponsor signage.
Awards will be presented to the top two teams and to the top football team. There will also be on-course contests.
Entry fees include a participation item, green fees, golf cart, lunch and on-course beverages. The deadline to register is July 29.

Registration on the day of the event begins at 8 a.m. at Hickory Ridge Golf Course and the shotgun start is scheduled for 9 a.m. A box lunch will be served beginning at 10:45 a.m.
The SIU Football Scramble Committee is comprised of Jeff Jones (SIU, '05), Dale Lennon, Sharon and Roger Lipe, Bubba Schweigert, Brad Taylor and Fran and Phil Thorne.
