Jake Erickson wins Pursie Pipes Trophy

Southern Illinois University golfer Jake Erickson won his third-straight amateur golf title this summer by capturing last weekend's SIGA (Southern Illinois Golf Association) Championship in West Frankfort.
By virtue of his five-stroke victory at Franklin County Country Club, the 20-year-old Springfield native won the tour's Pursie Pipes Trophy.
Erickson is coming off a sophomore season at SIU in which he recorded four top-20 finishes. His best tournament finish was sixth place at the SIUE Intercollegiate last October. He also finished 19th out of 44 golfers at the MVC Championships in April.
