Women's Basketball announces 2012 summer camps

CARBONDALE, Ill. — The Southern Illinois women's basketball team has announced dates for its 2012 girls basketball summer camps.
The Salukis will host two different camps, described below, which will take place at SIU Arena.
Big Dawg Day Camp
Session I: Sunday-Tuesday, June 17-19
Session II: Wednesday-Friday, Aug. 1-3
Big Dawg Day Camp is for girls grades 3-8. Our goal will be to teach the fundamentals of basketball. The campers will be divided into divisions based upon age and/or skill level. Skills and drills will be taught by Saluki players and coaching staff members. Fun filled games and competitions will take place with prizes awarded to daily winners.
Saluki Slam
Wednesday, June 20 and Thursday, June 21 Saluki Slam is a team camp for all middle school, high school JV, and varsity teams. Each team is guaranteed to play a minimum of six games. Officials will be hired to ensure quality play. A minimum of seven players and maximum of 12 players is required for each team to enroll in camp. Teams will be responsible for their own lodging and meals. All teams must be paid in full with complete rosters turned in by June 9.
Individuals or teams interested in participating in SIU girls basketball camp should fill out a registration form attached to a camp brochure and send it to the SIU women's basketball office. All participants must also have a signed medical release form on file with SIU women's basketball. The camp brochure and medical release form are available in .pdf format below, but can also be picked up at the SIU women's basketball office at 185 Boydston Center.
