Men's Tennis plays host to Chicago State Friday

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Southern Illinois men's tennis team will kick off a two match homestand this weekend, starting with Chicago State on Friday.
Location: Carbondale, Ill.
Site: University Courts (Sportsblast if weather is inclement)
First Serve: 2 p.m.

Southern Illinois: Dann Nelson (Seventh year; 110-86 overall; 91-79 in Division I; 73-65 at SIU)
Chicago State: Jack Barton (Third year; 0-49 at Chicago State)
Previously On...
Southern Illinois: The Salukis (3-6, 0-0 MVC) lost two out of three road matches over spring break, the last coming against Georgia State on March 17, 6-0.
Chicago State: The Cougars (0-14, 0-1 MAC), currently on a 57 match losing streak, fell to Western Michigan 7-0 on March 20.
Home Sweet Home
The Salukis are 0-4 on the road this season and are coming into a welcoming two match home stand this weekend, where they currently stand at 1-1 in dual match play.
Southern is 34-15 at home under Dann Nelson, which yields a .694 winning percentage. A Nelson coached Saluki team has never lost more than four home matches in a season (2006 and 2010), and has posted two one-loss seasons in 2007 and 2009, the latter of which was the season the Saluki men took the Missouri Valley crown.
