Men's Tennis competes at ITA All-American

TULSA, Okla.-- The Southern Illinois University men's tennis team traveled three players to represent SIU at the ITA All-American at the University of Tulsa this weekend.
The ITA All-American is the largest fall tournament featuring some of the best collegiate players in the nation. Senior Badr Cherradi, junior Rafael Cuadrillero and freshman Jonny Rigby represented the Salukis on Saturday and Sunday.
Badr Cherradi led SIU advancing three rounds over the weekend. Cherradi opened the tournament defeating Grant Taylor of Air Force to move on to round two where he defeated his opponent from SMU 6-4, 6-2. The senior from Lyon, France was one of 64 players in a field of over 300 to move onto the third round. Cherradi fell to Anderson Reed of Florida State in the third round.
Junior Rafael Cuaderillero had a bye in the first round to advance him to the second round automatically. Cuaderillo faced Ettore Zitto of Middle Tennessee State. Zitto topped Cuaderillo 6-3, 6-3.
Freshman Jonny Rigby fell in the first round of competition on Saturday to Joe Salisbury of Memphis.
Rafael Cuadrillero and Jonny Rigby were set to compete in pre-qualifying bonus matches on Sunday night.
