Men's Tennis to open dual match season at Wisconsin

CARBONDALE, Ill.--The Southern Illinois men's tennis team will open the 2013 dual match season tomorrow in Madison, Wisc. taking on the host Badgers and the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Southern will kick-off the weekend's matches on Saturday facing Wisconsin at 11 a.m. followed by a match against UMKC on Sunday at 10 a.m. at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.

The Salukis and Badgers have met 20 times in the past. Wisconsin boasts an 11-9 record against SIU with a current 11-match win streak. Southern and UMKC's first and only meeting was in 2010, the Kangaroos took the match 4-0.

Last weekend, Southern Illinois competed in the Missouri Valley Conference Individual tournament bringing home two third-place finishes in the singles tournament. Badr Cherradi claimed third place in flight one while Jorge Cavero took third in flight three.
