NFCA honors 11 Salukis with Scholar-Athlete distinction

CARBONDALE, Ill. — The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced Monday that 11 members of the 2013 Southern Illinois softball team have been named NFCA Scholar-Athletes.
The NFCA awards the Scholar-Athlete designation to all players with a GPA of 3.5 or above. SIU recently finished at No. 6 in the NFCA's 2013 NFCA All-Academic Rankings with a team GPA of 3.535.
SIU's NFCA Scholar-Athletes for 2013 are Alyssa Wunderlich, Brittney Lang, Caylee Cook, Jayna Spivey, Kalyn Harker, Kelsea Ashton, Kelsey Gonzalez, Michelle Bradley, Michelle Glenn, Morgan Barchan and Taylor Harris.
