Men's Tennis hosts McKendree, Western Illinois

CARBONDALE, Ill.-- The Southern Illinois University men’s tennis team returns to Carbondale this weekend after being on the road since spring play began in January.

The Salukis will host McKendree College on Saturday followed by Western Illinois on Sunday. SIU will look to improve upon its 2-2 record.

McKendree enters the weekend with a 1-0 record. The Bearcats defeated Missouri Baptist 9-0 last weekend. MU is coached by Southern Illinois tennis alum, Chris McMillin. McMillian is in his fifth season as the head coach and has led the Bearcats to two consecutive 20-win seasons.

Western Illinois split its matches last weekend topping North Dakota 4-3 before falling to No. 41-ranked Drake. The Leathernecks are currently 7-8.

Matches will be played at Sports Blast in Carbondale. First serve Saturday is set for 1 p.m. and competition Sunday will get underway at 3 p.m.
