Football adds University of Charleston to 2013 schedule

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University has added a 12th game to its football schedule for the 2013 season, the school announced Monday. The Salukis will host Division II University of Charleston (WV) on Saturday, Sept. 14.
SIU opens its season at Illinois on Aug. 31 and plays its home opener versus Eastern Illinois on Sept. 7. The Salukis will play six regular-season home games, including Missouri Valley Football Conference matchups versus Youngstown State (Sept. 28), North Dakota State (Oct. 19), Missouri State (Nov. 9) and Illinois State (Nov. 16).
The University of Charleston finished 9-2 last season and will play in the newly formed Mountain East Conference in 2013.
