CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. = The Southern Illinois women's golf team will take on Murray State in the Dual at Dalhousie on Saturday. The teams will play a round at Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau, Mo., with tee times between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. CT.
The Salukis and Racers have matched up four times this year, with the Salukis topping the Racers in three of those tournaments. In the first meeting between the two schools, SIU topped the Racers by two strokes at the Drake Creek Invitational. A month later, Southern bested Murray State by three strokes at the APSU Intercollegiate.
A week after the APSU Intercollegiate, Southern beat Murray State by 13 strokes at the Blue Raider Invitational and Cassie Rushing took home medalist honors for the tournament.
In their only matchup during the spring season, Murray State topped SIU by 10 strokes at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate. Shaina Rennegarbe tied for second at the tournament, on stroke behind medalist Delaney Howson of Murray State. Howson has won two tournaments in three tries this spring season.
Dalhousie is host to this year's Missouri Valley Conference Men's Golf Championship and was named the top course in Missouri in 2007-08 and 2009-10 by Golf Digest.
