A new era in Saluki Women's Basketball

Southern Illinois University Athletics introduced Cindy Stein as the new head coach of Saluki women's basketball on April 3, 2013. A proven winner with experience turning around struggling programs, Stein has hit the ground running over the summer.
Stein's first hire after taking the reins of the program was adding former SIU head coach and longtime Saluki assistant Julie Beck as the team's director of operations. Stein followed by adding associate head coach Andrea Gorski, another former collegiate head coach, as well as assistants Kat Martin and Christelle N'Garsanet.
Stein also signed her first Saluki in May, inking coach Gorski's daughter Kiley Gorski for 2013. The SIU staff has been busy over the summer both on the court and on the recruiting trail.
