LOUISVILLE, Ky.- Southern Illinois swimming and diving wrapped up the final day of the Louisville Invite on Sunday, with a few more swimmers earning qualifying times for the USA Swimming Championships.
The Saluki men had two swimmers qualify in the 100-yard freestyle. Andre Brilhante (45.29) and Till Pallmann (46.17) each earned bids after their performances on Sunday. Calvin Kolar qualified in the 200-yard breaststroke, after he finished his race in a time of 2:01.40. In the 200-yard butterfly, Michael Wolfe finished third overall with a time of 1:50.55. His finish earned him a provisional qualification in the event. Wolfe followed his performance with a second place finish in the 1650-yard freestyle.
Kegan Skelton capped off his weekend by taking first in the platform dive. He tallied a final score of 336.25 in the event.
Kelsie Walker took third in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 16:51.66. The freshman finished her weekend after qualifying for the USA Championships in a pair of events. Sarah James was the top Saluki in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing third in the B-final, while Holly Johnson finished third in the B-final of the 100-yard freestyle.
With the conclusion of the Louisville Invite, SIU finished their competition for the fall season. The Salukis will return to action on Jan. 17.
