Boemer, Williamson named Academic All-District

Corey Boemer and Tyler Williamson were both named to the 2014 Academic All-District V team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced today. Both players are now eligible for the Academic All-America team, which will be announced in early December.
Boemer was a second-team CoSIDA Academic All-American last year and holds a 3.89 GPA in biological sciences. He has started 21-straight games for the Salukis and has played at virtually every position on the offensive line. He is a three-time MVFC Academic Excellence honoree and was a first-team Academic All-MVFC selection in 2013.
Tyler Williamson gradated from SIU with a 3.79 GPA in management and currently holds a perfect 4.0 GPA while pursuing a Master's degree in kinesiology. Williamson has also started 21-straight games for the Salukis and holds the school record for career forced fumbles with eight. Williamson also earned Academic All-District V honors last season and was first-team Academic All-MVFC.
Southern Illinois is in District 5 of the eight districts nationally. District 5 includes all Division I universities in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.
Southern Illinois players have earned 16 Academic All-District honors in head coach Dale Lennon's tenure and have had multiple honorees in six of his seven seasons.
