Ho, a native of Wadsworth, Ohio, comes to Southern as a decorated high school golfer that has also had success on the junior circuits as well. Ho was a four-time first-team All-Suburban League and a four-time first-team All-Northeast Ohio selection in her four years at Wadsworth High School -- where she owns the all-time nine-hole record among boys and girls at three-under par (33). Ho has also won four tournament medals in her career and is a two-time Ohio Junior Amateur runner-up. She will also come to SIU as a recipient of the Dean's Scholarship.
"She's very accurate off the tee, she's got a good short game and she just wants to play," said SIU head coach Alexis Mihelich. "In the recruiting process I asked her what her goals were. A lot of players have different things to tell you, but she very specifically said, `I want to shoot 66 in a collegiate event.' So I asked her, `Why not 69, why 66?' And she said, `Because I've been in a position where I know I can make six birdies.' That's her personal goal, and it was one that's so well thought-out that it's going to be a motivating drive for her that I could see her doing that."
