SIU announces fall hitting academy

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois softball program announced the first of two fall hitting academies on Tuesday. Associate head coach Jen Sewell will lead the academies on Sept. 10, Sept. 17, Sept. 24 and Oct. 1. All students in grades 8-12 are encouraged to register.
Each of date will have a 6-7 p.m. session and a 7-8 p.m. session. Sessions are limited to 4-5 participants to maximize one-on-one time with the Saluki hitting coach, so register quickly to ensure your spot.

Last year under Coach Sewell, the Salukis led the Missouri Valley conference in on-base percentage and ranked in the top three of the league in six offensive categories. In 2013, SIU led the league in runs scored, doubles, RBIs and total bases.
