The Southern Illinois University men's golf team is back in action on Monday and Tuesday when it travels of the University of Louisville for the Cardinal Invitational.
Fifteen teams will compete at the University of Louisville Golf Club -- a par 72 course with a challenging distance of 7,100 yards. Live scoring will be available at www.golfstat.com.
Teams will play 36 holes on Monday, with a shot gun start scheduled at 8:30 a.m. The final 18 holes on Tuesday begin at 9 a.m.
The Salukis are coming off a third-place showing at the Illinois State Invitational two weeks ago. Head coach Justin Fetcho will field a lineup of Steven Souchek, Andrew Mitchell, Drew Novara, Wade Thompson and Brady Brown.
"We are looking forward to getting back out and competing again," he said. "We have some positives to build off of from Illinois State and we have had a good couple weeks of practice. If we take what the golf course gives us this week and not try and force anything, I expect us to play well."
The field features Louisville, Eastern Kentucky, Western Kentucky, Cincinnati, Louisiana Monroe, Stetson, Southern Illinois, Murray State, DePaul, Austin Peay, UT Martin, U.N.O, Northern Kentucky, Dayton Western Carolina and High Point.
