SIU's lone doubles team loses to Texas Tech duo

TULSA, OKLA.-- The Salukis lone doubles team at the ITA All-American was eliminated today by a duo from what will be a ranked team in January.
SIU's Jonny Rigby and Michal Kianicka were late additions to the ITA All-American's doubles bracket, but lost early to Texas Tech's duo of Tommy Mylnikov and Alexander Sendegeya, 6-3, 6-4.
"The team we played from Texas Tech will most likely be ranked when the ranking come out in January," Coach Dann Nelson said. "Playing no-ad scoring you have to convert the 40-40 point more than the other team. We had a tough time converting these points and were 1-5 in those situations. We are happy that we were selected to play and now need to switch our focus to the Pre-qualifying challenger in Champaign this weekend."
The Champaign Challenger begins Fri., Oct. 9, in Champaign, Ill.
