Salukis hold annual year-end football banquet

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois football program held its annual year-end banquet on Saturday. MyCole Pruitt and Tyler Williamson earned team Tony Bleyer Offensive and Defensive MVP honors, respectively. Pruitt also earned the Toughest Saluki award.
Pruitt was named a first-team All-American by every major media organization after an outstanding senior season. The NFL prospect led all Division I tight ends in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. His career numbers in those categories lead all tight ends in Missouri Valley Football Conference history and rank among the top seven of all receivers.
Williamson broke SIU's school record for career forced fumbles and ends his three-year SIU career with 174 career tackles, 14 sacks and 25.5 tackles for loss. He was a team captain as a senior in 2014 and earned honorable mention All-Conference honors. He was a second-team Academic All-America honoree in 2014 and is a two-time Academic All-District selection.
