Salukis release 2015-16 schedule

CARBONDALE, Ill.-- The SIU men's tennis team released its schedule for the upcoming season on Thursday.
The schedule opens on Sept., 25 in West Lafayette for the Purdue Invite. The Salukis will also take trips Southeastern Conference opponent Tennessee and Atlantic Coast Conference foe Louisville.
During the fall season the Salukis will have the chance to test themselves against Big Ten competition at the Purdue Invite Sept. 25 through Sept 27 as well as the Champaign Challenger Oct. 9 through Oct. 11. The Saluki faithful will get their first opportunity to see the Salukis play on Oct. 24 in the SIU Fall Classic.
Southern will open the dual match season against Tennessee on Jan. 16 in Knoxville, Tenn. SIU will also take trips to rivals Northern Illinois on Feb. 6 and Saint Louis University on Feb. 17. SIU will host rival Eastern Illinois on Feb. 21. The Salukis will face Tennessee State for the first time in the history of the two programs on March 4 in Nashville.
For spring break the team will call Destin, Fla. it's home. Southern will play three matches under the Florida sun from March 15 to the 17.
SIU will begin Missouri Valley Conference play on Apr. 9 against Illinois State. SIU will play MVC powerhouses Drake and Wichita State on the road to wrap up the regular season.
The MVC Team Championships will take place in Wichita, Kans. On April 29 and continue until May 1.
The Salukis are still seeking three more opponents for the spring season.
