Salukis lead at APSU Intercollegiate

Kristie Yang was one-under par 71 and leads all players
After the opening 18 holes at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, the Saluki women's golf team is in first place thanks to a 71 from senior Kristie Yang. She was the only player in the tournament that finished under-par.
Â
"Ever since Kristie shot that 70 at Dalhousie, she's a new player," head coach Alexis Mihelich said. "She's not afraid of going low and can mentally handle shooting in the red. She made a great left-to-right side hill sloping putt for par on 18 to stay under. She just walked it in."
Â
Yang was not the only Saluki in the top-10. Junior Alice Ho and sophomore Sun Jung are tied for 10th with Belmont's Megan Heath. Both players are just three strokes out of fifth place. Low rounds from them tomorrow could help extend Southern's lead.
Â
The Salukis will try to win their second tournament of the season tomorrow in the final round of the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate in Dickson, Tenn.
