TUESDAY'S STARTER
Bryce Sablotny will get the starting nod in the clash against Austin Peay on Tuesday. Sablotny is 2-1 this season with an ERA of 4.67. Sablotny pitched against APSU earlier this season, pitching four innings and allowing seven runs on eight hits.
SCOUTING THE SALUKIS
Southern is 14-8-1 this season and are coming off a series win at home against Memphis. THe Salukis are batting .255 with 101 runs scored. Jared Schmidt leads the team with a .400 batting average after a strong week saw the freshman INF go 5-for-8 against the Tigers. Greg Lambert leads the team with 29 hits, while Logan Blackfan has a team-high 17 RBIs. The pitching staff has an ERA of 2.90 this season and have been strong for the Salukis. Ryan Netemeyer has appeared in 10 games this season and has converted on all four of his save opportunities. Chad Whitmer leads the team with 33 strikeouts.

APSU is 13-9 this season and hold a win over the Salukis earlier this season. The Govs are hitting the ball well, holding a team batting average of .321 with 187 runs scored. Dre Gleason leads the team in hits (32) and RBIs (29). The pitching staff has an ERA of 6.66 on the year.
SCOUTING THE RACERS

Michael Baird was three-outs away from a no-hitter, before Illinois hit a bloop single in the ninth inning on Sunday (Mar. 20). Baird bounced back to get three-straight outs to pitch the first complete game shutout since 2012. It was also the first time the Salukis held an opponent to one hit since 2008. Baird was rewarded for his performance by earning his first career MVC Pitcher of the Week honor.
NETEMEYER FOR THE SAVE
Sophomore RHP Ryan Netemeyer has been very strong as the closer for the Salukis. Netemeyer has converted all five of his save opportunities this season in ten appearances. He has allowed two runs in 14.1 innings of work.
FREE TO STEAL
The Salukis continue to steal bases well, tallying 25 so far this season. Connor Kopach leads the team with six stolen bases, while Dyllin Mucha is 5-for-6 on stolen base attempts.
