Coach Kay Brechtelsbauer Celebration set for Sept. 10-11

Weekend celebration planned for Coach B and her players
CARBONDALE, Ill. – Saluki Athletics will celebrate Hall-of-Fame softball coach Kay Brechtelsbauer on the weekend of Sept. 10-11 in Carbondale. Saluki Softball dedicated its field to Coach Brechtelsbauer, who retired in 1999 as the winningest coach in Missouri Valley Conference history.
On Saturday, program alumnae can watch the 2017 Salukis practice before taking photos of the newly dedicated Coach Brechtelsbauer Field. That evening, Saluki Softball will host a football tailgate at 3 p.m. on Saluki Row before Southern's 6 p.m. game vs. Southeast Missouri. Food and drinks will be provided at the tailgate, and $10 tickets will be available for those who purchase upon RSVP.
On Sunday, Saluki Softball hosts John A. Logan and Kaskaskia in an 11 a.m. doubleheader at Kay Brechtelsbauer Field. Admission is free to all celebration attendees.
