Salukis In Summer Update

Saluki Baseball players are around the country competing in summer baseball leauges. Here's a quick update on the Salukis.Â
THE HIGHLIGHTS
- All four Salukis in the Northwest League are hitting at least .290.Â
- Jake Hand (.290), Nick Hutchins (.331), Connor Kopach (.306), and Greg Lambert (.312)
- Of the 374 hitters in the 18-team Northwoods league...
- Lambert has the league's most RBIs (36) and second-most doubles (11).
- Kopach leads the league in stolen bases (21).
- Kopach, Hutchins and Lambert all rank in the top-11 in hits.
- Lambert ranks fourth in runs created. Kopach (15th) and Hutchins (17th) are also in the top-20.
- Will Farmer has hit in 14 of the last 16 games. He's hitting .349 in that span.
- Ryan Smith is eighth in the West Coast League in average (.326), fourth in hits (28), fourth in on-base percentage (.433) and eighth in runs created (13.44).
After leading SIU to one of the nation's biggest turnarounds in 2016, several Salukis are continuing that momentum in summer ball.
- All three teams with an SIU player in the Northwoods league are .500 or better.
- Their combined record is 60-47 (.561).
- Farmer's DuPage Drones are 19-16.Â
