Ryan Smith named second-team All-WCL

Complete All-WCL Teams

Saluki Baseball outfielder Ryan Smith was named second-team All-West Coast League, the league announced on Monday.

Smith played for the Gresham GreyWolves and was one of the best players in the league throughout the summer. He led the league in on-base percentage (.448) and plate appearances (223) while ranking third in OPS (min. 150 PA). In 53 games, Smith hit .320 with 11 doubles and 23 RBIs while drawing a league-leading 35 walks. His 11 doubles ranked second in the leauge, and he ranked third in the league in both batting average (.320) and runs created (29.9).

Smith joins Nick Hutchins, Connor Kopach and Greg Lambert as returning Salukis who earned All-League honors this summer. Hutchins, Copach and Lambert all earned spots on the Northwoods League Postseason All-Star team, which was announced yesterday.
