After the opening two rounds at the Loyola Fall Invitational, the Southern Illinois women's golf team is within striking distance of earning its second-straight win. The Salukis shot a two-round team score of 648 and are one stroke behind second-place Loyola and four strokes behind first-place Butler.

Fast greens at Flossmoor Country Club in Flossmoor, Ill., kept the scores high. No player shot below 75 and many players turned in scores in the high 70s, 80s and 90s. There were just eight rounds in the 70s today.

Saluki senior Brooke Cusumano and sophomore Sun Jung are two of the players who have made the best out of tough playing conditions. Cusumano is in second place with a two-round score of 156 and is just one stroke behind the leader, Loyola's Morgan Brown. Cusumano is the only player in the field who shot below 80 in both of the first two rounds. Jung is tied for ninth at 163.

Play at the Loyola Fall Invitational will continue with the third and final round tomorrow at Flossmoor Country Club.
