Saluki Men’s Tennis team travels to Purdue Invite

The Saluki Men's Tennis team is travelling to West Lafayette, Ind. to compete in the Purdue Fall Invitational this Friday. The Salukis are just one of many teams competing in the invitational. Among them are Ball State, DePaul, Indiana, Marquette and Toledo.
"It is a strong field so we are excited about that," said Jonny Rigby, coach of the SIU team.
After last week's 20-7 combined record at the River Forest Collegiate Invitational, the team seems to be in good shape for the tournament this weekend.
"I think the guys deserve a lot of credit for the way they played last weekend and I am confident that they will go into this weekend with a positive mindset," Rigby said. "We have only had two days of practice since the last tournament, but the guys are playing at a high level right now. If they continue to play their games, I think we will be in for a successful weekend."
The first round of the invitational starts Friday at 10 a.m. at the Schwartz Tennis Center in West Lafayette, Ind.
