- SIU and Murray are meeting for the second time this season. Southern took a 12-3 lead into the bottom of the sixth in the first inning, but Murray State scored 10 unanswered runs to win, 13-12.Â
- The Salukis lead the all-time series, 46-21.Â
- Southern and Murray have split two mid-week games every year since 2009, with the exception of 2015, when Murray won both games.
- Seven of the last nine SIU-Murray State games have been one-run games, and two of those nine have gone to extra innings.
- SIU spent 17 of the first 20 games this season on the road, playing 15 true road games and two neutral-site games.Â
- In true road games, the Salukis are 8-7. Only two other schools in the nation have played 15 true road games this year with a winning record. Purdue is 10-8 on the road and Kent State is 10-5.Â
- SIU closer Ryan Netemeyer is the reigning MVC Pitcher of the Week. Netemeyer pitched 3.2 no-hit innings last week while picking up three saves.Â
- Netemeyer ranks third in the NCAA with seven saves this season. Nobody else in the MVC has more than four.
- SIU's single-season saves record is 13 by Al Levine in 1990. Netemeyer had 12 saves last year, which rank second in SIU single-season history.Â
- Netemeyer's 20 career saves...Â
