LUBBOCK, Texas - Southern Illinois pitcher Ryan Netemeyer was one of 21 pitchers to be named a semifinalist for the National Pitcher of the Year, presented by the College Baseball Foundation.Â
Netemeyer ranks second nationally with 14 saves, which is an SIU single-season record. He did not allow an earned run in the months of March and April, a string of 23 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run. He is also on the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Watch List.Â
