2017 Saluki Football camp starts on Saturday

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The 2017 Southern Illinois football team reported for fall camp on Friday afternoon. The first fall practice of the 2017 season will be Saturday morning at 8:40 a.m.
Head coach Nick Hill enters his second season at the helm of the program with 15 returning starters from last year's squad. Six Salukis were named to the preseason All-MVFC teams released last week: Austin Olsen, Hans Carmien, Jeremy Chinn, D.J. Davis, Connor Iwema, and Craig James. Both coordinators also return for the 2017 season, marking the first time since 2012 and 2013 that Southern has had stability at both positions.
Southern's season opener is at home on September 9 vs. Mississippi Valley State. Season tickets, three-game mini-packs and single-game tickets are all on sale now at 877-SALUKIS or online at SIUSalukis.com.
