LAHAINA, Maui – Southern Illinois Men's Golf heads to Lahaina for the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate on November 2-4. The team traveling this week will be Luke Gannon, Peyton Wilhoit, Matthis Besard, Vikar Jonasson, and Sean Mullan. Tom Cleaton will be playing as an individual.
SIU will be playing 54 holes in an 11-team field made up of host Hawai'i, Air Force, Boise State, California, Clemson, Connecticut, George Washington, Georgia, Gonzaga, Houston, Kansas, North Florida, Oklahoma, Sacramento State, South Carolina, Southern Illinois, UCLA, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming. Clemson is returning to Ka'anapali after taking the title back in 2016, finishing one stroke ahead of Georgia who will also be returning.
The teams will play on the Royal Ka'anapali Course. Ka'anapali Golf Courses opened in 1962 and were designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and then renovated in 2005. The courses were built on land that was once home to Hawaiian royalty.
Play begins Friday, November 2nd at 8:30 a.m. HT with a shotgun start. The official practice round will be Thursday, November 1st. Live stats will be available at www.golfstatresults.com.
