Peyton Wilhoit Wins MVC Golfer of the Week

CARBONDALE, Ill. — Peyton Wilhoit, a senior from Arkansas, has won his ninth Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week award after his performance at the Ka'anapali Classic in Lahaina, Maui. Wilhoit was SIU's top finisher, tying for 42nd place in a field that featured 20 teams and 116 golfers.  Â

In the team's final tournament of the fall season, Wilhoit finished 2-under par and shot 70-71-70 for a three-round total of 211. He remained par or better the entire tournament and ended the fall season with a 71.3 stroke average.

Wilhoit and the Salukis will start their spring season in February at the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Florida.
