Peyton Wilhoit earns third MVC Golfer of Week award

This week's Missouri Valley Conference Golfers of the Week were Bradley's Taylor Ledwein and Southern Illinois' Peyton Wilhoit.Â
A junior at SIU, Wilhoit won the award for the third time this season. The Searcy, Arkansas native tied for 10th place at the Desert Intercollegiate, helping the Salukis to a 14th-place team finish.  He fired three-round scores of 66-70-74=210 (-6) to pace SIU (292-294-304=890). Â
Of the 23 teams that competed, 12 of them are ranked in the top 100 and seven are within the top 50 on GolfStat. There were 135 competitors in the field, and after round one, Wilhoit was in first place and after round two he was tied for third.Â
