Men's Golf in second place after day one

TAMPA BAY, Fla. – The Southern Illinois men's golf team has five players in the Top 25 and stands in second place after 36-holes today at the South Florida Invitational. With more round to go tomorrow, Peyton Wilhoit (-1) is in second place on the leaderboard, just one stroke behind South Florida's Kyle Flexsenhar. Wilhoit shot rounds of 70 and 73.
Also in the Top 25 for SIU are No. 8 Luke Gannon (+6), No. 20 Hunter York (+10), No. 23 Dirk Kuehler (+11) and No. 15 Dean Harpe (+8), who is playing as an indivdual and does not count toward Southern's team score.
South Florida (+4) leads the field by 22 strokes over Southern Illinois (+26), followed closely by Florida Atlantic (+29). As a team the Salukis carded 26 birdies, with eight Gannon and six apiece by Wilhoit and York (+10).
