Peyton Wilhoit earns sixth MVC Golfer of the Week award

CARBONDALE, IL. – Peyton Wilhoit has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week for the fifth time this year and for the sixth time in his career.

Wilhoit won the William & Mary Intercollegiate on Tuesday, his second tournament title of the year after also winning the Kennesaw State Intercollegiate in October. Wilhoit helped the Salukis win team championships at both tournaments.

Wilhoit made a spectacular comeback in the second and third rounds of this week's tournament. After round one he was tied for 21^st place and after round three he moved all the way up to third place. He was the only golfer to shoot under par (-2) at William & Mary, locking in the title by three strokes.

The Salukis will play two more tournaments this season before hosting the MVC Championship on April 23-24, the Redwolves Intercollegiate and the Boilermaker Invitational.
