Men's Golf finishes seventh at Arkansas State

The Southern Illinois men's golf team placed seventh out of 14 teams after the final round on Tuesday at the Arkansas State Intercollegiate. Junior Peyton Wilhoit (-10) placed third overall and made the All-Tournament Team.
Wilhoit finished in the top 15 in his seventh-straight tournament, including five top-five finishes.
"Time and time again, he's proven that no matter what type of golf course, no matter the conditions are, no matter what the field is where he's playing, he can compete with anybody at any time," SIU head coach Justin Fetcho said. "This is just another week of him being able to prove that."
All five golfers on the SIU men's golf team placed in the top 50 of the tournament. Junior Luke Gannon (+5) tied for 25th place and senior Dirk Kuehler (+10) tied for 41st.
"On the individual side, each guy has his own thing that he needs to get better at and improve on," said Fetcho. "We have one week to do that before our next event which is our last one before the MVC Championship."
The Salukis return to Carbondale to prepare for their last regular-season tournament at the Boilermaker Invitational on April 14-15.
