Kendrick selected for NAAC’s A.C.E. Mentoring Program

Kendrick is the first Compliance professional from the Missouri Valley Conference to be selected as a mentor.
The National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) has announced that Associate Athletic Director for Compliance Kevin Kendrick has been selected as a mentor for NAAC's Athletics Compliance Elite (ACE) Mentoring Program for the 2018 class.
Established in 2016, the ACE Mentoring Program's purpose is to pair compliance professionals with less than 42 months experience in the field with senior Compliance professionals. The mentor is expected to serve as a confidant, advisor and teacher to the mentee and is encouraged to visit and observe their mentee's Compliance program. Participants are required to attend the NAAC Convention in Washington D.C. this summer. After a rigorous application process, 11 mentees were selected this year.
Kendrick will serve as a mentor to Boston College's Assistant Director of Compliance and Financial Aid Brittany Sobieraj. He is the first Compliance professional from a Missouri Valley Conference school to be selected as a mentor and will be just the second from the Valley to participate in the program. Missouri State's Shamika Kentish served as a mentee in 2017.
"It's exciting to get this opportunity to represent not only myself and my family but to also represent Southern Illinois University," Kendrick said. "The ACE Mentoring Program is a great way to interact and network with younger colleagues and to stand alongside individuals that I've reached out to during my growth as a mentor is definitely rewarding."
Kendrick is in his second year at Southern Illinois University and is finishing up his eighth year as a compliance professional. In addition to his duties as the Associate A.D. for Compliance, the 2005 graduate of Arkansas-Pine Bluff also serves on the SIU Administrative Professional Staff Council and is a member of the Chancellor's Diversity Council.
NAAC is in its 20th year and serves as the professional and educational association of compliance administrators. NAAC is administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), which is in its 53rd year.
