Saluki Softball reschedules fall ball games

CARBONDALE, Ill. — The Southern Illinois University softball team has rescheduled its Sept. 22 fall ball doubleheader. The Salukis will host a pair of 10-inning contests at Charlotte West Stadium beginning with Lake Land College on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 4:30 p.m. before taking on Austin Peay on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m.
The Lake Land College Lakers return eight from a team that went 48-18 a season ago and made their seventh trip in eight years to the NJCAA National Tournament. SIU's Holly Marousek was Lake Land's ace and went 22-5 with a 2.67 ERA.
SIU's game on Thursday is the third of an eight-game fall slate that includes matchups against St. Louis University, Murray State, Jefferson Community College, Greenville University and Austin Peay.
