The Basics
- Two sisters and a brother: Morgan, Maiah and Mason
- Parents: Dan and Patti Domask
- Coached by his father in high school
- 2019 Wisconsin Mr. Basketball
Did you play other sports?
"I played all of them when I was younger: soccer, basketball, baseball, and football. I ran track my senior year in high school, but football is my next favorite. I was a receiver. I still love to play football but I obviously can't do it now."
When did you fall in love with basketball?
"It was right off the bat. My dad coached my older sister Morgan, my brother and my sister. I was always at practices in the gym so much with them. When I was really young, I eventually started shooting on my own on the side hoops. It took off right away."
Why SIU? How did you feel about the atmosphere of the program during your visit?Â
"Coach Mullins. Obviously, he's well-respected for what he did at Loyola and here as a player. I just trusted in him that he was going to win here, and he talked about culture and how he'd bring the right guys to fit around me. I had known coach Pat (Monaghan) -- he recruited me really hard at Milwaukee before he came here; so when he came here, I had that instant connection, which was big, too. I was committed to Northern Kentucky first. NKU, Wright State and SIU were all neck-and-neck, but SIU won me over at the end."
Now that you're here, what have you found here in this program?
"Everything has been exactly like they told me it would be. Now that I've gotten here and have gotten the community feel, I feel even stronger about it than when I first committed. I'm definitely glad that I chose to be a Saluki."
What are your expectations for the season?Â
"It's all team expectations for me right now. I want to finish at the top of the league and make a run in the tournament like coach Mullins did in his playing career."
What's the best thing about being in Carbondale?
"I like that when I walk in any restaurant around town, there are the posters of the old SIU basketball teams everywhere. I just like the feel of it. It makes us feel like what we do everyday is important to people."
Are there any individual goals you have going into the season?Â
"I just want to make an impact. Personally, as long as what I'm doing is helping the team, I'll be happy."
