ST. LOUIS - SIU football senior offensive lineman Ernest Dye Jr. was named Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week, the league announced Monday. Dye led SIU to 206 rushing yards against No. 1 ranked North Dakota State on Saturday.Â
SIU became only the second team in the last three seasons to rush for 200+ yards against NDSU. The Salukis ended the year with five-straight 200+ yard rushing games and finished the regular season ranked No. 12 nationally in rushing.
Additionally, Dye and the SIU offensive line led the way for both Javon Williams Jr. and D.J. Davis to rush for 1,000 yards, marking the first time SIU has had two thousand-yard rushers in the same season. SIU is also the only program in the nation with two 1,000-yard rushers this season.Â
